I’ve received so much Great feedback in my inbox from a recent Facebook Live Video, that I thought I’d share a few additional thoughts. I recently read a meme that said, “If you will be anything, Be Genuine.” And what I love about this particular attribute is that GENUINE, in fact, is something you Are-(or are not) Not something You “Do”. I’d like to drop some lessons I’ve learned along the way in a segment I call: Learning while Living & still Loving! *Manifestation: Do not ask God to reveal the true intentions of both: You toward others & others toward you and expect it not to manifest. Things to Remember: Be careful. Having a discerning spirit (or knowing something about someone’s energy before someone “admits” it), if not measured fairly, can simply become you questioning everyone around you critically & distrusting everyone. So far, the energy I’ve questioned in others has been correct, unfortunately...BUT I’m very aware that I can be wrong, at any time. *Manifestation: It has been very difficult for me to believe that someone (or someone’s) have very terrible intentions. I like believing we’re all seeking to better our whole lives, no matter the walk. I am not fond of viewing anyone close to me, as harmful. I would venture to even say, when I experience an offense, a part of me is upset with myself-like Why didn’t you know that person was going to betray you? This sounds kind of weird, I’m sure, but I am very particular about who I allow close to me. Things to Remember: For the same reason above, remember that some people simply cannot appreciate a Genuine Soul. They, too, have been offended and simply may not be in position to comprehend someone genuinely doing right by them. Still a Tough lesson! If you are a Genuine person experiencing a weird kind of Loss, Shift, Energy Release-It is for the Best! Whether it is due to something in you (sometimes, that is it) or due to something in the other party, the best thing you can do is Learn. Continue to love, continue to care, continue to edify, continue to wish well, continue to give the Light of God through your pores-Because Most High knows exactly what He’s doing. All Things Are working for the good. #HesIntentional Be Genuinely sweet, shoot, Be Genuinely...not Sweet, if that’s who you are. 😊 There is bound to be someone out here that appreciates your mean self. But Whatever you Be, Be Genuine. May Wonderful Things Come your way! Thank you for reading. #Blog -Brittany “Soul” Sharp “Ten minutes with a genuine friend is better than years spent with anyone less.”

I’ve heard of a woman who took up bike riding after losing a close friend in a car accident. Or someone who soaked their burn wounds with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, three times a day, for a quicker recovery. I, also, have known someone that has taken up drinking until they can’t remember days at a time after losing their job. The question, I’d love to discuss is: What does Healing Look Like? Some people, respond on this topic with a belief that treatment is “good enough” for most things. In fact, there are a plethora of conspiracy theories about how the Western Hemisphere’s approach to medicine is one of awareness that more money is made by continuing to treat people rather than curing them. Although, I wouldn’t argue that such schools of thought are merely theories, I am not sure about this possibly being true of countries surrounding the US. I believe, whole-heartedly, as I stated in my debut book, Healing! Still the Best Cure. -The Key of Love with Brittany Soul. And whether you believe cures are just as, if not more important than treatment, or not-my question for you as a human is What exactly does Healing Look like? Is it fast or slow? Is it temporary or permanent? Does it entail counseling, medicine, hypnosis?!? …We could go on. The Truth is, there is not one way to Heal. However, I’d love to share my thoughts on holistic health, that I approach within my life. Healing is a Process. Processes do not specify pace. There are no long-lasting shortcuts in Spiritual, Physical, Mental or Emotional Healing…if you’re doing it right! The goal is for the healing process to be effective. {What is better than looking cute? Being Whole. – Brittany Soul. Healing will entail Spiritual agreement. No matter the area, in which, healing is necessary, your spirit will either chose to agree or not. We may think, for example, forgiveness is merely a matter of words, but if 5 years after you’ve uttered “I forgive you”, you are still suffering from the offense inside? You have not Forgiven. Note: It would only be responsible of me to add that forgiving someone doesn’t mean that you must allow them the same access to you or your heart. But it is important to release the energy associated with the offense, as soon and completely as you can. May your spirit agree! Healing is a Beautifier. Let me tell you! If you’ve ever seen an ex that you’ve done wrong, years after your break-up, that has not only moved on, but appears extremely happy, healthy and at peace? The most effective point in this scenario is that, when you speak to this ex and they respond with kindness…Yeah, true healing will have that affect. I encourage True Healing for everyone. It looks good on you! Healing channels God’s Love through you. If you are given another day on Earth to breathe, make a difference, love, and inspire someone-Know that it is because the Most High has a purpose for you. The Light shining through you is not your own. It was meant to be shared. You are your best, when you reflect that Love, Light and Power. Why I Admire Her Now…After a Bad First Impression Posed on stage, neatly seated and smiling (not just) for the camera, behind her. I’d developed a small degree of rapport with the other leaders in the organization and was especially excited to meet her. Prior to this day, I seen a few videos of her performing that had impressed and intrigued me. It wasn’t that I could relate to her story, exactly, but there was some substance in the message that was…familiar. Yay, her performance had begun! And even as she spoke on a subject that I was not super into, I saw the same power I’d previously witnessed online. Without fail, this lyricist spoke with power and pose and I, unexpectedly, saw a degree of myself in her. As she concluded and proceeded to walk backstage, another gentleman seated on the stage attempted to give love for the performance; I think we all agreed, it was truly impactful. But to my surprise, this powerful young lady gave a look to this fan, that was so piercing, it almost seemed to be a look of… disgust. Being an artist myself, it was only right to consider a few additional perspectives. Perhaps, this look could have represented something less dysphemistic. This sharp, cutting glare could have meant: A. ‘The topic, I just spoke on, is very serious and I am serious about it’, or B. ‘I don’t want to take away from the weight of the moment and we are filming’, or even C. ‘I am doing the Lord’s work, don’t give me kudos’. Of course, in an effort to dismiss what seemed like a negative first close-up impression, I gave the benefit of the doubt to any or all of these possibilities. I resolved to draw no final-conclusion regarding the initial meeting of this incredibly talented individual. Immediately following the event, I spoke with several of the other poet leaders and they were super sweet to me. Not to mention the fact that someone found out it was my birthday weekend and asked the entire building to sung Happy Birthday to me, while I was on stage. And, yes, I thought about this overall beautiful experience from time-to-time. Especially, because to-this-day, I am encouraged by several people, each year, to audition again to be a feature. Who knows, maybe, I will. I just knew that on more occasions than not, I’ve become fond of a musical artist’s work and when coming into contact with their spirit, I often grew more fond and/or they became fond of my music/poetry, as well. Well, since that year, I’d decided to continue listening to this young lady’s music, poetry and even sermons online. I find myself becoming more and more impressed with her lyrical skills and production, as well as, her unique way of spreading the Word. This woman’s ability to convey her message while interweaving relevant personal stories proves to be effective, intriguing and even humorous, at times. What I’ve slowly begun to realize, while watching her speak or hearing her perform, was that the more I live my own journey, the more I can relate to her testimony. It is almost like, although, I’d not lived the experiences she was coming out of, yet, the processes she’s been describing over the years are ones that I would eventually need to take heed to, anyway. I, in fact, learned to appreciate her a new way. Her story is one that entails rejection, rebellion, restoration, revelation and reconstruction. Of course, when she smiles and cracks jokes, I am even more inclined to lean in to her messages, likely, because I have a deep, but silly personality. In fact, there is song of hers that was a my ‘hit the gym’, my ‘fighting temptation’ mantra, and so much more. I love it to this day. This one experience is an example of how such interesting means of empowerment can come from a bad first impression. What I am saying is, sometimes, people do things that rub us the wrong way, not realizing that this source/person may be, absolutely, instrumental in our growth – one way or another. Whether through, an annoying coworker-that God uses to share sporadic, but pertinent words of wisdom, to a nerve-wrenching family member-that pulls through for you at just the right time, to a seemingly off-putting musical artist, you’ve not officially met that ministers to you in more ways than they may ever know. Don’t let bad first impressions stop you from giving and receiving what you and the other person were purposed to. -Brittany “Soul” Sharp Thank you for taking the time to view my new Blog!
